Success Stories

Its important to me to know that both the horses I sell and the owners who buy are happy.  Below are a slection of e-mails and comments that I have received.  Some buyers even come back for more, like Hilary & Richard Seals, who have bought one horse a year for the past 3 years, also Zoe & Jamie-Lee Day who bought 3 in one year.

Helen has looked after my horse Splodge for two years now.  She runs an excellent yard and all the horses in her care receive fantastic tailor made, and individual attention.  Helen has a fantastic understanding of Splodge and his quirky ways - she is patient, kind, firm when she needs to be and shows him great love and kindness all the time, which for me is so important.  She has successfully competed him to 1 * level and he really does thrive under her expert eye, great knowledge and attention to detail.  Helen has an excellent team of support around her and through shear determination, hard work and an extensive knowledge of all things equestrian, her success continues to grow, she truly deserves it!

Hiya Helen,

As its been a year since I brought 'Cruise' (Zippery Zap) from you, I felt I should let you no how happy we are with him. As he was only four when we got him we have taken him out to different competitions a been doing a bit of everything, we have been doing extremely well with dressage; often getting a high placing!! We have also been to camp twice, this is where we really 'clicked' since then we have been doing ODE, Hunter trails, SJ comps, although we have stuck to jumping under 3ft as he is still young. ( But we all know he is capable of much more. Eg: Jumping Out the field lol)

Cruise has so much character and is loved by my whole family I even got my Boyfriend to ride him

My Hopes for the future are to keep training through the winter and by Spring he will be ready to start British Eventing.

Speak to you Soon!

zara3yo dark bay mare by Obelisk.

Zara entered her first showing competition last summer and won her class and the supreme championship.

The picture above shows her as a 4 year old entered in ‘Search for a Star’ where the judge liked her but said she needs more experience as a bit green. (It was only her second time out)!

As we are intending to do dressage I am now getting her used to things as she is still a bit spooky and hope to take her out to dressage toward the end of this summer and also some jumping as she shows potential at that as well.

As you can see she changes colour to a lighter bay in the summer and has grown to nearly 17hh.

All in all a super horse with a lovely temperament and I believe she will go far.

Unfortunately Zara cut her leg on the field fence so has to have some time off for the scar tissue to heal but I am hoping we should be out and about again end of this year.

When she starts dressage I will send you photos of her as I am sure she will do very well, my trainer thinks she is great and so do I.

If you ever need a recommendation I will be pleased to oblige.  Pity I do not have a bottomless pit of money as I would definately purchase a youngster from you again.

Best regards

Jenny

Hi Helen.

I have been meaning to drop you a mail for a while, firstly to congratulate you on your results this year - you must be so pleased with your advanced boy and to let you know how we are getting on with Zyl.

Well she is an absolute star - we lunged and long reined her last November and then backed her during December.  She never put a foot wrong!  She was soon hacking out with my old boy to start with, then Adam's eventer once she was capable of going a bit further.  We have taken it easy with her, we want her to enjoy whatever she is doing, she has taken everything in her stride.  We are consistently getting >65% for Prelim dressage tests now and I will probably affiliate her soon.  She loves jumping, we did a clinic this weekend and she was happily jumping around 3' courses with lots of fillers, skinnies etc, the bigger the jump the better she jumps, size is not an issue - two of my instructors think she has the potential to 'go all the way'!!.  She has also taken to XC and has done a couple of hunter trials.

She is great around the yard as well - she was clipped last weekend and took it all in her stride although we didn't bother with her head and ears because she was getting a bit bored and has always been a little sensitive around her ears.  And she is one of the cleanest horses in her stable - an absolute dream to skip out.

I've added a couple of pictures - the dressage picture is from one of her first competitions, she has filled out a bit since then - the school where it is held is known to be one of the spookiest but she wasn't worried at all.  The cross country was her second hunter trial - she still likes to jump a little larger than she needs!!

The plan is to continue dressage and show jumping over the winter and hopefully start Intro in the spring.  With a little luck we may end up at the same event and you will be able to see how she has progressed.

Julia

PS Adam says if you find something the same but with four dark feet, let us know!!

Hi Helen
Hope that your eventing season is starting well. Just a quick e mail to let you know that Ziggy and I are doing fine and she has settled down really well and most of the time is being mrs nice!.  I do wish that we had a horse walker because she stands perfectly still when I have worked her but when you first get on I have to hope that something distracts her attention so I can get on quickly!!! ( but this will get better I know).  But do not worry I love her to bits and we will get on just fine it has only been a short time and I will never sell her.  Hope everything ok with you and I will let you know how we are getting on. Thank you for everything
Jane

Hello Helen

Just a new years note.
Hope you and the horses are well, we noticed that you had to withdraw one of then from a few events last year and just hope they are both OK for this year.

Presto has certainly turned a corner this winter and seems to finally have settled !
It took a while, although thats warmbloods for you.

He has decided that this really is home and now just enjoys everyones fuss. My dad does then on a monday & wednesday when I work and hes like a lamb for him.  Its really nice to see his soft side !

He's schooling really nicely and his show jumping has become much cleaner.  He really is a confidence giver over a fence.
He never had an issue with XC just loves that.

Just thought you might like an update.

Hope you have a good year.

Hi Helen,

Hope you are having a good season.  Thought I would send you a quick update on Zyl.  She has just completed her third BE 90 making good progress each time and has been double clear in all three and was placed this weekend.  We are now thinking we will try her in the 5 year old classes.  I've attached a cross country picture from Broadway.

If you come across something similar to 'Zyl' - similar size, attitude, ability, please let us know.

Best wishes

Julia
